There is minimal documentation about the Hex Binner. Has anyone used it? Have a few questions about how to use it. I tried passing in 6 million values yesterday, and it came back error'ed (guess why you try with a few at first.)

Thanks,

David

Hi @runneals,

If you open up the transformer, you will see where it eventually goes wrong.

Next to that a link is provided for more information on HexBins and eventually a contact email address of the deginer is also available.

Hope this helps.

I have used it and then eventually decided to build my own (which I haven't put into the FME Hub, but may do). But it's fairly well documented once you open it (right-click, then choose edit) and the properties are accessible too through the help panel (right-click, then help on the custom transformer opens the general custom transformer help page, but if you have the help panel (view -> windows -> help) open it'll show the properties of the custom transformer.

But yeah, start out by trying something small so you know what the parameters do, what the input should be and the output will be (to be honest, that's a good general tip for any transformer, custom or standard, that you're using for the first time)
