Coordinate System Gallery Inaccessible through Transformers (2024.0.1.0)
Hi all,
When using a FeatureReader, FeatureWriter, or any other transformers, I can’t seem to access the Coordinate System Gallery. However this doesn’t seem to impact readers or writers (when accessed through parameters anyway).
I’m currently using FME via Data Interoperability through ArcGIS, is this a limitation of the extension? Or have I missed a setting to use the gallery in all cases?
Cheers for any help.

Hi, @adele_j.
Thanks for posting! I took a look to see if I could produce this bug on my end, and it seems it shows the drop-down list. Before investigating further, which build of 2024.0.1.0 are you using?
Thanks!
Hi Ali,
Build number is 24202, just in case they help I’ve clipped the extra details below as well:
I also have a much older version installed (2019.x?) as it’s bundled with our distro of ArcMap - it’s in a different location than this one (2019 is in x86 Program Files, while 2024 is in the standard 64 bit folder), but is it possible that this is somehow interfering with it?
Thanks for your time
Hey, @adele_j.
Thanks for providing the build number and extra details, appreciate it! I’ll let our team know of the issue and see if there is a way around it; thanks for your patience.
It shouldn’t interfere, not to worry .
Thanks!
Hi all, wanted to give an update as (I believe) I’ve found the solution.
Under the Translation menu in the Navigator, the Reprojection Engine parameter for all my workspaces had been defaulted to Esri (presumably due to it being accessed via Data Interoperability) - adjusting this to FME resolved the issue for me:
There is a new pain-point on this however, which is discovering I have to make this change every time I set up a workspace - is there any way to set the default Reprojection Engine going forward to FME’s? I couldn’t find an option under Workspace Defaults or Coordinate Systems in FME Options.
