I recently had my SMTP Gmail subscription start failing over the weekend and had been wracking my brain on how to solve this and found a difference in SMTP Server Settings that Google recommends vs what is on the template.
Google recommends using smtp-relay.gmail.com. The template is still using smtp.gmail.com and is failing on the connection.
This may have been fixed in a more updated version of FME Server.

Sorry you're running into this. I tested with the template smtp.gmail.com in an Automation external action and received the email successfully. Do you have any specific error messages that you're seeing in the Automation log, job log or email.log (Resources > Logs > core> current > subscribers> email.log).
I tested in FME Server 2021.1.2. What version are you using? Is it failing consistently since the weekend or intermittently?
