Question

Category deprecated while uploading transformer to FME hub

Hi, I am not able to upload my transformers created with FME Desktop 2016 to FME hub. I tried two of them and here are the error messages:

Category 'Geometric Operators' is deprecated

Category 'Linear Referencing' is deprecated

Is there a list of current valid categories?

Thanks in advance.

"FME Hub requires valid Categories – these are the same categories (of transformers) that you can see from within FME Workbench."

Have you tried looking in FME Desktop 2018 under the Transformer Gallery?

We have both FME Desktop 2018 and FME Desktop 2016. To support old users, we decide to use 2016 to produce transformers.

Does FME hub support newest FME Desktop only?

Hi @gistic

Custom Transformers created with FME Desktop 2016 are still supported on FME Hub. Only the categories you chose are not supported anymore. Here is a list of supported categories on FME Hub:

  • 3D
  • Attributes
  • Calculated Values
  • Cartography and Reports
  • Coordinates
  • Data Quality
  • Filters and Joins
  • Format Specific
  • Geometries

Please choose one of these categories for your transformer. This will allow you to uplaod Custom Transformers created with FME Desktop 2016.
