AEC Objects and Multiple View Blocks from Autocad

Hi,

As new user of FME and because I haven't found any answer elsewhere on the Internet I created this topic.

I would like to use MV blocks an AEC Objects from Autocad in FME respectively as Simple blocks and Polyline.

With FME:

-MVblock doesn't provide anything.

-AEC Space provide a rectangle with the dimensions of the Space (draw as a polyline in Autocad). So the specificities of the polyline are lost.

I can modify my DWG file to make it workable and this is what I am doing.

But my question is : How to read correctly MVblocks and AEC Objects in FME ?

Dylan.

I have never worked with MVblocks or AEC Objects before, so that's an interesting question!

Could you provide us some data to play with?

What settings did you use in the AutoCAD reader? You exploded the blocks?

I tried differents settings (exploded or not, ...).

Attached you will found a sample file.sample-mv-blocks-and-aec-objects.dwg

Hi @dylanlelievre,

AEC Objects sound like Civil3D objects. May I ask if you have tried using the Civil3D reader to see if that yields different results?
Hi Annabelle,

I just tried thie reader. It gives me some split lines for the AEC Object (better) but nothing for the MV Block unfortunately.

Your data does not make sense to me? Do you have a screenshot of how it should look like?

Here it is :)
