When I use the Workspacerunner for 2446 features with 7 concurrent fme processes and 10 workspaces per fme process the last 6 features are never processed. I tried to delete and re-create the Workspacerunner, but no success. Does this mean the total number of features to process should be dividable by the number of workspaces per fme process? That would be awkward.

There could be a defect in the implementation of the WorkspaceRunner if the symptom appears actually in some conditions. Please contact Safe support directly, sending your workspaces and sample data, which reproduce the symptom.
