Question, I'm presently using FME desktop 20161,2,1. I tried FME2018, but some custom workbenches I use wouldn't function. I understand 2016 may being sunsetted in 2021. Would it be possible to confirm this?

@heapb  You can confirm our support policy here under the section "Safe Software's Support Policy on Versions".

We try very hard to make all our releases backward compatible. If older workspaces fail to run in a newer version of FME then you should contact Safe Support.

You can have as many versions of FME on your machine as you want. Some of us still have 2006 or earlier versions for one reason or another. (mostly laziness)

What I do is create a batch file in the folder with the workbench that executes the workbench with the correct version. Then I can still still run it while I rebuild in the newer version.

**Always a good idea to rebuild/rethink things every few years. I took one process I had that had ~500 transformers down to about 20 because I've learned a lot more over that time. See below pics for the same process. Does the exact same thing.

Example;

Old Workbench

oldNew workbench
