OK FME'ers. You asked for it!

Actually, someone literally asked if I could get Mark Stoakes to be the Safer taking part. He's not keen, but he'll do it (I guess I owe him a favour now).

For those that don't know him, Mark Stoakes is a long-time Safer and FME user. He's run the Professional Services and Support teams at Safe, and now heads the FME Application Experts team. That means he's really into complex projects and scenarios. He probably even knows what the SectorGenerator transformer does - and why!

Plus he knows me well, which is important to the fun, non-FME, questions I think.

Let's say if you beat Mark individually, it'll be a great achievement. If you all beat him as a group... then I might as well stop putting you up against Safe staff, because I can't think of anyone else here more experienced (who hasn't already taken the quiz).

I was tempted to make the questions super difficult; but in the end I just went with what I was planning anyway. We'll see how that goes.

So have at it, and good luck: https://demos-safe-software.fmecloud.com/fmeserver/apps/FMEQuiz

Not looking good for a user win so far.

The shortcut key was not one I was familiar with, but truthfully I'm not sure how often I would add the same transformer twice in a row.

Yes logically, the transformer you just added is surely one of the least likely transformers that you would want to add next

Yes, to add the same transformer at any time, Ctrl-D is the usual method.

@mark2atsafe. I am quite sure it is not April 2020, even in the remote parts of Canada. :-)

Very true. I'm not sure why there would be a shortcut like that. I guess it's just the shortcut to Quick Add, and it happens to open on the previous transformer, because what else makes sense? I know we have a project going to try and predict the next transformer required, so I'll pass on the info. Maybe / should open Quick Add with the next predicted transformer?

April? I don't know what you mean?!?!

(thanks for the heads up).

I agree. But I like to use several StringReplacer in a row sometimes.

I thought about it and where i place the same transformer twice is when I need to manipulate lat/long attributes. So two DMSCalculators, or DecimalDegreesCalulators or similar custom transformers.

Phew, that was a close one! :-)

But I can't claim that it was "a great achievement" on my part, let's call it "a couple of lucky guesses".
