FME Hackathon 2020: Discussion and team-building thread

Hello FME'ers,

It's on our blog, so it's official: we are running an FME Hackathon over the coming weeks.

You can find the full details of the event in this knowledgebase article.

We're hoping that this is going to be a fun and worthwhile event, with a lot of great projects and some money raised for a mental health charity (we're making a donation for every user who takes part).

This thread is for general discussion, sharing of ideas, and forming up teams if you wish.

We're hoping that you'll band together to produce team efforts: maybe a work team, or a team based on location, or common interests, or just randomly get together!

And if you need any FME advice during the contest, we can perhaps pair you up with a Safe support person to give you advice and suggestions. @jlutherthomas or myself (@mark2atsafe) are the folks to get in touch with for any general or technical enquiries.

So make sure to sign up and take part. It's going to be fantastic!

I haven't been able to sign up, get a 404 error after submitting the form...

And on an unrelated note, if anybody wants me on their team, let me know!

That's not good - the 404 error that is. I've pinged @jlutherthomas to take a look.

Can you try again Hans? Something odd is happening, and I can't figure out what. We sometimes get values labelled <unused> being returned, and I've never seen that before.

Still 404. I'm not entering a team name as I don't have a team at the moment and it's optional anyway, maybe that's it?

I also got a 404 error yesterday, but it worked today.

Like Hans, I'm open to being recruited to a team.

Seems to be if you follow the link in the email blast. It adds some extra "marketing" parameters that Server seems to think are really FME parameters!

So if you go straight to fme.ly/register2020 then it should be OK.
