I have upgraded my Mac to the latest OS (Big Sur 11.0.1) and at the same time moved to a SSD system disk. As a result FME Workbench will not run at all. I am running version 2020.2 but older versions will not load either. I've tried reinstalling FME but the same problem occurs. I do not see any error message displayed. Is FME compatible with Big Sur?

It is not currently listed on the technical specifications, I don't know whether Safe has already been testing FME on Big Sur, you could try the latest beta and see if that improves matters. If not, your short-term solution would be to revert the OS update, but from what I've gathered that is not an easy task...

Same problem with the Beta.

Surely SAFE test on upcoming major OS upgrades?

Hi @davebarter ,

We are aware of an issue with launching FME on Big Sur from the /Applications/ folder.

Can you navigate in Finder to: /Library/FME/<version>/Apps > open FME Workbench

You should then be able to use FME Workbench from there.

I've attached this question to our internal report and will update this post when we've resolved the issue.

Regards,

Andrea

Thanks Andrea that has worked

Hi @davebarter ,

I'm please to let you know that we've resolved this issue in the most recent release of FME.

You can find the fix in FME 2020.2.1 build 20806 and newer: www.safe.com/downloads
