I'm trying to make some pretty histogram reports of some error differences and I'm having trouble getting the chart generator to actually show the trend line. I want to show it because my data should be close to normally distributed.

I have tried to use the trend line in the scatterplot option but that does not work also.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I should have enough data to get a trend (60+ data points)

Try lowering the resolution. At 500dpi your 1 pixel trendline is invisible.

Safe should also add a Style configuration option for the trendline.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that and it doesn't work. I don't see any options to change the style of the trend line (just whether it exists or not), unless you meant that as a comment to Safe for improvement

Any other ideas?

Hello @james_c_452 , would you be able to share a sample workspace, and or sample data? Also, what version of FME are you currently using? Best, Kailin.

Hi Kailin,

I'm on 2021.2.3 (I haven't been able to get it to work in 2018 either). I've attached an example. Hopefully it works, I've never shared a workspace before!

Hello @james_c_452 , I think you've stumbled accross a bug in the ChartGenerator transformer. I was able to reproduce this with a few other datasets. I also didn't have luck in 2018! The bug was filed as FMEENGINE-72752. I will update this thread when its been resolved! Best, Kailin.

Hi Kailin, thanks for looking into it for me. Hopefully it works one day!

Hello @james_c_452, thanks for your patience on this issue! I'm happy to inform you FMEENGINE-72752 is now resolved in FME 2022.2 22749+. You can find the latest versions of FME Desktop on our Downloads Page. Best, Kailin.
