Hello,

What is the best way to monitor the FME server "health"?

If there are many of jobs being submitted I would like to know as soon as possible that the server will go down because of the overload. It would be great if I could get it from any logged information.

This is definitely something on our radar. The idea would be to have an FME Server dashboard with automated alerts for different events (like system overload).

One example of a custom dashboard is demonstrated here:

I've asked our developers and will get back to you with more info when I get it. In the meantime, if anyone else on here has developed a Server monitoring tool, let us know.

One that I already know of is Mission Control for FME Server by con terra of Germany. It's available as an iOS app and for Android too. I have to admit I've never used it yet, so I don't know exactly what it does, but do check it out.

There is a dashboard built into 2016.1 - see this page for more info:

Hopefully that's at least partly what you need.

Within Safe, we have heard from customers that are either actively using or interested in using the following packages to monitor FME Server:

  • Microsoft SCOM
  • Solarwinds
  • Librato
  • Appdynamics

@mark2catsafe and @aaronkoning, It has been almost two year since this question was posted. Could either of you provide an update on an FME server monitoring analytics or log analyzer?

@witos, could you share what system you end up using for FME server's health monitoring?
