The Carto account and API key should be enough, at least if it's hosted by Carto:

If you're using a local Carto server it might be a firewall issue. Can you access it succesfully through other means from the same machine?

Hi @rudy_v

Are you connecting to carto with a private account or a multiuser/organisation account?

I would try putting your username in the 'CARTO Account' parameter and the same under the Multiuser, if applicable.

Just an update after working with @rudy_v.

When connecting to a Carto Database, ensure you know the host location of the database. If Carto is hosting the database, the connection parameters should be set up as @redgeographics posted. If the database is hosted locally(on premise), the Local settings must be used to connect.
