Here is my problem: When I tried to add ArcSDE Reader to connect to ArcSDE 10.2.2 database that hosted on Oracle 12c, I got error that below. The error message is so general, I cannot figurate it out where the error come from.

One thing I found that may be useful is: ftp://mggp03.ed.sc.gov/ArcGIS/Manager/Help/index.htm#geodatabases/setting2121229770.htm which suggests you will see this error if you have not correctly specified the version of oracle you are using so perhaps double check the set up of the 'version' parameters under the Database Connection.
