Create a portal to transport data within the workspace by preventing processing lines from crossing. For an inbound portal, there can be one or more outbound portals. The Portal would be a circular element with the ID written in the middle.

Have you tried creating tunnels yet? Right-click on a line and pick Create Tunnel, I think you'll find it's very similar to your idea.

The Tunnel will have a junction with annotation at either end, so you could add your ID there (by default the annotations say where the tunnel is going to / coming from), we'd also recommend changing the color of the annotations if you have multiple tunnels in your workspace.

Alternatively you can hide lines, if you change the line color before doing that the remaining stubs will still retain that color.
