Get ready to showcase your photography skills and love for FME in our photo contest happening within the FME Community.
Each Tuesday in August, our Question of the Week will be themed around photography - from sharing a photo of your workspace view to capturing your furry friends with Safe swag!
Answer the weekly question and share a photo in our Question of the Week Forum. Each question you answer with a photo earns you an entry for that week’s prize draw and our grand prizes!
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this Contest, a contestant must be over the age of majority within their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry. Contestants in jurisdictions where these types of contests are prohibited by law, or where a license is required, are not eligible. Employees of Safe Software Inc. ("Safe") and their household members are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
Contest Period:
The “Contest Period” begins on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time and ends on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Entries received after the close of the Contest Period will not be eligible.
How to Enter:
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.
Submit a photo in response to the FME Community Question of the Week. Questions will be posted on:
- Question 1- August 6
- Question 2 - August 13
- Question 3 - August 20
- Question 4 - August 27
Photo submissions should be posted in the comments section of each Question of the Week; which is located in the Forums section of the FME Community. Photos must relate to the theme of that week’s question, or they will be disqualified.
Entries are limited to one (1) entry per FME Community account per weekly Question.
By submitting a photo to the contest, you agree that you are granting Safe Software a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of your submitted photo in any and all media, for any purpose, including but not limited to commercial, advertising, and promotional purposes.
Prizes Available:
There are 3 different prize categories for eligible photo entries:
- Weekly Random Draws: Safe will randomly select two (2) photos per week in response to that week’s Question. Cut-off times for eligible entries each week will be:
- Question 1- August 9 at noon Pacific time
- Question 2 - August 16 at noon Pacific time
- Question 3 - August 23 at noon Pacific time
- Question 4 - August 30 at noon Pacific time
Each selected photo will entitle the submitter of that photo to win a Visa gift card (approx. value of CDN$25 each). There are a total of eight (8) random draw prizes.
- Community Choice: Throughout the Contest, FME Community members will be encouraged to upvote their favourite photo submissions.
The photo with the most upvotes at the end of the Contest Period will entitle the submitter of that photo to win an Osmo Action 4 standard, or similar, camera (approx value USD $300). There is only one (1) Community Choice prize.
- Safe Software Choice: Safe Software judges will review all eligible photo entries to determine which photo best meets the following criteria:
- Originality
- The "wow" factor of your photo
- Quality
- Creativity of your responses - feel free to show off old FME swag or related items
The contestant who submits the photo selected by Safe Software will win an Osmo Action 4 standard, or similar, camera (approx value USD $300). There is only one (1) Safe Software Choice prize.
All prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. In the event that Safe is unable to award a prize as described, Safe reserves the right to award a replacement prize of equivalent value in its sole discretion.
Odds:
The odds of winning a prize depend on the total number and timing of eligible photo entries received during the Contest Period.
General Rules:
All entries will be screened by Safe and any entry which Safe deems, in its sole discretion, to be obscene, unlawful, violent, harassing, libellous, or otherwise inappropriate for the Contest will be considered non-eligible and will not be entered into the Contest.
Selected contestants will be announced in the FME Community and on the Safe Software social media channels. Selected contestants will also be notified by email no later than Friday, September 6, 2024 and must respond within five (5) business days of such notification to receive a prize. If a selected contestant does not respond within this time frame, they may be disqualified and Safe may, in its sole discretion, select another contestant. Safe is not responsible for the failure of a contestant to receive notification, or for our failure to receive a contestant’s response, for any reason whatsoever.
Before being declared a winner, each selected contestant may be required to sign a standard Release Agreement and Canadian contestants may be required to correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question.
Allow 4-6 weeks for shipment of the prize after verification of your address and contact information. Safe is not responsible for any change of FME Community Account, email address, mailing address and/or telephone number of any contestant.
Safe assumes no responsibility for lost entries, for failure to receive notice of entries, for any failure of the FME Community platform during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any network or telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof.
In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, the entry shall be deemed submitted by the “authorized account holder" of the email address associated with the FME Community account used to enter the Contest. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. A contestant may be requested to provide us with proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the FME Community account of the potentially winning entry.
Contestants who create multiple FME Community accounts for the primary purpose of entering the Contest will be disqualified.
By entering this Contest, each contestant expressly consents to Safe, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with their entry for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Safe’s Privacy Policy. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Safe for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate, and in no way misleading. Safe reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any contestant who supplies untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading information.
By entering the Contest, you agree to abide by the Contest Rules and the decisions of Safe, which are final.
By accepting a prize, you agree that Safe can use your name, voice, and/or photograph in any publicity or advertising related to the Contest carried out by Safe without further remuneration, except where required by law.
No more than the stated number of prizes shall be awarded. If, due to an error, there are more claims for prizes than prizes available, then Safe reserves the right to award the prizes through a random drawing of eligible prize claims.
Safe reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the Contest at any time if Safe determines that, for any reason, the Contest cannot be run as originally planned or if there is any other occurrence compromising the fairness or integrity of the Contest.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial and municipal laws. Void wherever prohibited by law or in jurisdictions that require a license to hold such contests.
