CSV to CSV, show only unique values?

CSV to CSV, show only unique values? I know it can be done in excel using Array Formulas. But I need to it on many CSVs, (analyzing IIS Web logs, want only unique hits). There must be a transformer for this.

Loop through records and build trace connectivity

Hi I have a table containing 2 columns StartPt and EndPt [see attached]. I would like to find all the connected nodes for each StartPt in the table. For example, the connected nodes for Startpts 107224 and 100561 are: StartPt EndPt107224 100561107224 101420107224 107197107224 107196100561 101420100561 107197100561 107196100561 103058 Any suggestion how this can be achieved in FME. Alternatively, I could look at doing this via a stored procedure.

Difference between "Feature types to read" and 'Feature types'

Hi Everyone,I am new to FME and trying to understand basics. Please help in clarifying below doubt. I have a FME Non-Spatial oracle data reader which is pointing to table 'ABC'.And I have another table 'XYZ' with same schema .In my FME workbench "Feature types to read" is set as 'ABC', where as 'Feature types' is set as 'XYZ' I also have Where clause set under 'Advanced', please let me know the difference between "Feature types to read" and 'Feature types' and to which table the where clause points to. Thank you in advance.

Reedit 3D Cesium Tiles

I have created city buildings from building footprints and have added attributes to them from AttributeManager. Now I know that 3D tiles cannot be set as readers so is there a workflow to update those attributes without redoing the process of creating them again?

I've 2 solids and I want to use a clipper to split them. But I can't get the clipper working (tried all the options) :-S.So it would be great if somebody could help me :-).I've attached the files and workbench. Thanks!

Writing aggregate polyline fails when writing to File Geodatabase

In FME 2021.1, is anyone else having an issue where the feature class that FME writes is a data table, instead of a polyline? I'm using a dynamic workflow with a FeatureWriter and the open file geodb writer on a Mac. This was working perfectly before upgrading to test in 2021.1.

Trouble adding geoid height grid

I an trying to add a geoid height grid constructed with the workspace from this article Creating Vertical Adjustment Grid files for use with FME (safe.com)I get the file EGG97_QGR.GRD (I changed the extension to .txt to upload) witch I place in "D:\Reproject\GeoidHeightGrids\Romania\"I created a corresponding EGG97_QGR.gdc file in "D:\Reproject\GridData\Romania\" with the content:# https://cngcft.ro/index.php/ro/download/download/2-software/2-cod-sursa-transdatro..\..\GeoidHeightGrids\Romania\EGG97_QGR.GRDI have done this previously with no problems. Only difference is that in the new version the grid doesn't have any NODATA pixels. And maybe FME 2021.0...I Get the following error:Corrupted CS_MAP data file encountered.CS-MAP Reprojector: Unable to load geoid height grid '%0'And:CsmapReprojector (TeeFactory): CsmapReprojector: Reproject: Could not reproject the geometry of the preceding feature: CS-MAP Reprojector: Unable to load geoid height grid 'D:\Reproject\GridData\Romania\EGG97_Q

Why does Feature Writer not write geometry in Oracle spatial?

I have some difficulty with using Feature Writer and Oracle Spatial in FME version 2020.2. My workbench reads from a Shapefile and then I'm using Feature Writer to write the features into Oracle for which I then want to trigger another process. The format I am using is Oracle Spatial Object. The problem is that the Feature Writer will not write the geometry to the records, so I end up with a table with a blank geometry column. I've carried out some investigations to narrow the source of the problem. If I choose Geopackage (instead of Oracle) the geometry is written. If use the standard Oracle Spatial writer with same connection then the geometry isalso written. What am I doing wrong for the Feature Writer to behave like this or is there a bug? Is there a work around?

I have to connect to azure blob storage (datalake) based on SAS auth, I have permission into SAS key like:ss=bfqtsrt=scosp=rl So, I can create a list and I can read files, also I have SignedResourceTypes like Container, Service, and Object. Launch .bat by workbench

Hi, I try to launch a Workbench on FME Server in which I create a .bat file via attributecreator and featurewriter which I then launch via pythoncaller (also tested via systemcaller). This workbench works fine locally but when I try to put it on my FME Server the .bat doesn't seem to run the right way. FME Server also seems to change my folder in the .bat file. I can provide the generated .bat and the workbench to try to clarify the problem. Have a nice day, Julian.

How do I read a 7Z File

I have been provided with a compressed gdb file as a 7Z File but having no luck reading it.

Using the feature reader to read GeoPackages from Azure blob storage

HelloI have hundreds of very simple vector geopackages (.gpkg) stored in Azure blob storage. I use the feature reader to successfully read many other formats from blob storage but I cannot get the feature reader to read a geopackage from this location. If I download the data, then use the feature reader, everything works as expected. Additionally as you can see in the pictures the feature reader dialog can see the file but when asked to read it fails. Does anyone know of a work around that doesn't involve downloading all the data? Thank you for your time.

How to define/create a separate envelope element for each geometry within a feature and for the feature itself? (KML to CityGML transformation)

The first image shows my aim - each geometry has an envelope containing info for upper and lower corners. The second image shows where I am now. Note that in my current version I have the envelope outside the building, but I would need to have it inside, and also would need a separate envelope inside the ground surface.

Why is backup & restore missing from FME Server 2020?

We have FME Server 2020 build 20614 and are trying to upgrade to 2021. Unfortunately, there is no "Backup & Restore" option available anywhere in the UI. Is it hidden away somewhere we aren't looking? I am trying to follow this guide

Insert (writer) data into Oracle "Interval" data type field?

Does anyone have suggestion/workaround for inserting data into Oracle "Interval" data type field? I don't see any comments on FME idea. But I thought it worth asking in forum if someone had a workaround. https://community.safe.com/s/idea/0874Q000000TlVCQA0/detail?smartspace=ideas-fme-server&t=1616021806783 My only thought is building a trigger on table. Use a varchar2 field and convert it into "interval" type before insert or updates.

Error when trying to overwrite an existing ArcGIS Portal feature

Hi all, I have a workbench which takes a CSV, creates vertex's and then publishes to ArcGIS Portal. This works fine and I can view the data in Portal, but it fails if I try to run the workbench again to overwrite the feature... which is something I need to do every morning. I get this error: ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer: 'addResults' error for a feature in 'COVID_Joined_Tables'. The error code from the server was '10500' and the message was: 'Cannot convert a value of type 'java.lang.Double' to 'SMALLINT'.' I have the Portal writer set to INSERT and to Truncate first YES, which I think is the right setting to be using? I guess it is something to do with Portal converting a field type when it get's created, and it finds a mismatch when trying to overwrite it. I have checked the attributes of the fields and only one field is down as SmallInteger, so I tried changing that thinking that may have been the field causing the p

How to select a Range of Polygons based on Excel File Start/End information

I have two datasets: One polygon split into equal, 100m segments with a Start/End point for each polygon (Ex. 100 -200, 200-300, etc). The second is an excel file that external users fill out, supplying their needed work areas (this is based off the start/end from the polygons but can be a range - 100 to 300, etc). I want to take the Excel file, take its range of data and extract just those polygons that fall into that range. Unique IDs can be used but I just do not know how to select ranges from one dataset based on an excel file. Any help is most appreciated, Thank you.

Hi! Some schedules do not run on our fme server because users who last edited them have been removed / do not exist anymore. How can I query / see which user last edited given schedule? Or if this is not possible how to get the list of schedules that do not run?

HI,We have a client who asks us the following question:I would like to inquire before installing the FME ESRI edition license.Indeed, we would like to integrate data into SDE database which is hosted on a dedicated server, does FME have to be on the same machine? Currently we go through postgis / SDE connections via ArcCatalog.A priori, we can write in the ESRI SDE, even if FME is not installed on the same machine?Does it work a bit like Oracle / PostGIS? Monitor FME Servers

Hi everyone,Currently, we are having an issue with the AAD - Azure Active directory. So we can only get access to our FME servers through our server machines. It will throw this error if we try to get access through web services from local machines: We have already had a workplace where we use HTTP Caller, GET FME Rest API to do the health check. I'd like to know how to monitor this issue too and basically, the process would send us error codes and messages when this or similar errors happen. Thank you very much!

Database connection configuration issue when upgrading to new version

Hi,I have more than 50 databases connection configured with my FME Desktop 2019 version. I would like to upgrade to FME Desktop 2020. My question is if I migrate to the new version ( FME 2020) will I lose my connections to these databases or will it keep them?Regards!

Choice with Alias not saving choices after run.

I am trying to setup a parameter as Choice with Alias which contains thousands of possible choices. The issue I'm seeing is after running, the choices are no longer selected. Say I choose 10 items, Run the workbench, and for whatever reason, need to run it again in the same session. All parameter inputs are saved, except for the Choice with Alias.

Get Image from WMTS in Desktop 2021

Hi,I'm trying to use the binding coordinates of a feature to get an image from a WMTS using a feature reader, but I keep getting the following error message which is causing the translation to terminate. <WMTS> WMTS Reader does not recognize the Coordinate Reference System: '%0' The CRS of the WMTS that I'm working with is definitely not '%0' so I'm not sure why the reader thinks that it is. Has anyone come across this issue yet? Thanks.
