Dynamic DWG template

Hi There,I am using FME to convert data into DWG by using a predefined template. This works fine but has the limitation that I cannot dynamically create layers since they will not match with the template definitions and creating the layers in the workspace has its own disadvantages. I cannot add all possible definitions into the template since the data and therefore the splitsing of the layers is different per conversion. I would appreciate any ideas or other ppl experiences trying to achieve this. Cheers, Itay

Hello! How to use lastools for drawing vektor of buildings from a lasfil point cloud?

I am a student and trying to figure oute how to use las tools for atomaticely detekt edges of houses/building and then draw vektros. In my case I have a point cloud where I already cut off the terrain and stand left with the roof.Are the some nice taransformer or a set up that I can use for this?

How to read xml by xslt file?

It is possible to read a xml and 'style' it with a xslt file. I've read on the forum FME can only read version 1.0 of the xslt-file.When I try to do this I get an error (creator + xsltprocessor) and i don't know how to fix this/what the error is? Who can help me? :-) Thanks! I've attached an example xml and xslt file + the belonging output (created by the default program...I just want to automate it).

How to make the JSON array list as a header?

Hi,I have a JSON file containing data for last 24 hours api information and want to convert it to excelThe time and api change accordingly depends on the time we browse to the JSON file. I would like to make the first list as the header but in the Attribute Manager we can't edit the Output attribute value. This is what I got once I used List Exploder and Attribute Manager.Is there a way I can make the first row as the header?

Uploading Pictures with FME Server App

Hi all, I would like to get a mobile app using FME Server apps. I am trying to see if there is a way a user takes a photo, then once he takes it uploads that information to sharepoint.This photo then contains your Long/Lat information as it has been geocoded along with the time it was taken. Any suggestions if anyone has done this previously?

Ideas for improving FME

What should I do if I have an idea for improving FME? Previously I sent these to FME's support team and they filed it in their internal tracking system, but I never knew if others had the same ideas or maybe even some alternative ideas and approaches. I really wish I could see what everyone else thinks. Is there a better way?

I have an empty fgdb with many datasets and attributes, but no data. Problem is that every field is lower case and I would change them in Uppercase.

I want to prepare the mapping from 1 oracle database (11) to another (19). Problem is that the 19-database is not installed yet, and the only way of preparing the migration is from Oracle 11 to a fgdb, which have alle the attributes lower case. Thanks.

Data download folder structure

Hi All,I'm trying to create my own folder structure for a data download. I've found the example in https://community.safe.com/s/article/create-specific-directory-structure-in-the-data-do?t=1604933837460. Unfortunately I can't get it to work. I keep getting a folder called $(FME_MF_DIR_USERTYPED) in the results. In this folder I see the correct paths.How can I get rid of this strange folder name? Thank you.

SQLExecutor error exposing multiple attributes

Hi, I am using FME Desktop version: FME(R) 2020.1.1.1 (20200817 - Build 20614 - WIN64) Using the SQLExecutor (version 9) against an Oracle Spatial Table, I am running a SQL statement such as below:select "LINE", "COLOUR" from "SCHEMA"."TABLENAME" This statement 'runs successfully' when tested but when I expose multiple attributes using the 'Attributes to Expose' field, this does not work and a single attribute with all the field names concatenated with a comma is being output: If I expose a single attribute only then the output is correct. Is this a bug with this version of FME Desktop 2020.1 and or SQLExecutor Version 9, as it does not happen with previous versions of FME Desktop and SQL Executor?Thanks!

Set appearance of multiple geometries.

Hi!I have problems with setting the appearance of multiple geometry instances in FME. For instance: I have N appearances with different names and want to match them with M geometries. The material with the name A(Style name) should match with the geometry with the name A (geometry Name). I cannot figure it out how this is done with the appearance setter. Anyone have an idea? Making a copy of a google spreadsheet on google drive

I have a google spreadsheet template located on my google drive that I want to make a copy of and move to another folder in Google Drive. The drive connector doesn't allow me to copy or download gsheets. I was able to have a gsheet reader and writer create a copy of the original spreadsheet however the styling isn't preserved... Does anybody have a work around for copying googlesheets and preserving styling?

How to see attributes in workspace app from input file?

FileCopy doesn't change the name of (zip)files in folder

I have a couple of zipfiles in a folder that I basically want to rename. I've used a 'directory and and path' reader to read them in. The name I want to give them is based in the Excel file, and with the featuremerger I add that as an attribute to the file information. However, when using the filecopy writer (either with move or copy as parameter) the name doesn't change. In the translation log, I get the following warning:Ignoring the destination filename 'filename1' because the source dataset 'C:\\edited\\edited\\edited\\GML\\' was not a file. Destination file names are only used when the source dataset is a file' The sourcedataset is set as the folder containing all the files I want to rename, and not one specific file, since I want to rename them all. How can I apply what I want to do? Bonus Question. They are zipfiles, and I would wish to unzip them as well. Can that be established through FME as some sort of batchprocess as well?

getting the processing status of a FME workbench called by a python script

I am looking for the possibility to process the status message of a FME script (Translation SUCESSFULL / Translation FAILED) within a Python script, or to stop the script as soon as the processing was not successful.Currently I call my workbench inside a Python loop and process a (first) part of the data. Then I call the Workbench with the next part of my data and so on. Unfortunately, with my current workflow, I have no way to see when my Workbench generates an error in between and actually terminates. DWG writer doesn't pick up DWG template symbology

I'm trying to write data to DWG. For this I want to use the symbology in a DWG file here after called the template.When I inspect the template, I can see all different line colors and line widths. However, when writing to DWG everything gets the same linestyle and color, eventhough I specify it differently. My workbench look similar as the one in example 2 within this tutorial:https://community.safe.com/s/article/working-with-the-dwgstyler The only difference (as far as I can see of course) is that I have a different reader type.I'm using FME 2019. I can't share the template or other data.

Hello there I am reading for DB point geometry formated as WKB , how can create a vertex from this wkb filedex: (wkb_geometry: 0101000020E6100000F4FFFF87CF5447401BC047148BD43840 ) why the same point read from csv ( lat,lg) file converted to wkb format using geometry extractor transformer has not the same length as the previous wkb stored in database ( 0101000000d81f259db86224417980c06195f54441) wkb extracted (geometry extractor ) thanks

Sentinel2 cloud cover

Total novice question when it comes to the Sentinel dataset - I am using the Sentinel 2 open access dataset, trying to play around with getting vegetation index calculations, I am wondering what the easiest way to clip the raster output to remove cloud cover. Which band should I use to identify cloud cover and is there a vector polygon that is already available in open access with this data? Implement quick translation as primary translation tool in organisation

Hi, Im working in a local government. We have a FME desktop licens (one license), only used by GIS admins. We have a lot of users that need a tool to make easy translations between formats. I am wondering if it is possible to implement FME Quick Translater in the entire organisation, without implementing the full FME desktop? e.g. i basically want my users to be able to right click on a dgn file - click translate with FME Quick translaetor - save the dgn to whatever new format and then open it in eg QGIS. How could that work license wise etc.? it it possible to buy "only" the quick translate part?

CSV to CSV, show only unique values? I know it can be done in excel using Array Formulas. But I need to it on many CSVs, (analyzing IIS Web logs, want only unique hits). There must be a transformer for this.
