Error while truing to start the FME License server.

---------------------------Have Installed the FMESERVER 2013. FME SERVER and application service is running fine. I have also placeed the safe.lic in the flexserver path. When I try to run the FME license server in windows service, I get the below error. Please help Services---------------------------Windows could not start the FME License Server service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

Hi everyone, I have a question about my thesis.I have a point layer witch including data about the traffic(speed, cars number ect..). And I have a road layer. I don’t know how to connect the the point layer to the line as the closest segment of the line get the datas from the closest pont… Thanks in advance

Output has weird shading

We are producing Cesium 3d Tiles from .dgns, our problem first was that some elements seem to have the wrong surface normals, or so we think and our fix was to use the Orientator transformer, produce a Reversed version of all elements and then Merge these elements back together so we don't have duplicates. What occured afterwards is that some elements have weird shadings that change as you orbit the element, is there any fix to this? Is this still an issue with the surface normals? Or could it be that some inner color bleeds through because of the normals 'fix' we did? Thank you in advance!

Hello, I'm trying to convert .dwg to cesium 3D tiles, but exported 3D tiles seems to have only one-side surface. Any ideas how to export 3d tiles with front and back side? I tried lots of transformers. In FME it seems to have double-sided surface. Many thanks

rasterizing point clouds

Hello, I am trying to create a polygon from different point clouds files. After the reader I use the "NumericRasterizer" and then the "RasterExtentsCoercer" but after the rasterization I receive 1 file as an output instead of 8 that was the input. Which means that they have been merged somehow and therefore I have one polygon. How can I keep the individual files and create an outline per file?

We use a bench router software called EnRoute, which produces a human readable file with a .nc extension. Does FME provide a translation for this particular format?

FME is aware of the file extension .nc, but appears to be unrelated to the file type I am using. Please see attached file sample (note the original file name is louves.NC)

ArcGIS Snap Raster equivalent to align raster grids

Hello FME users, I am looking for a solution that is the equivalent to ArcGIS snap raster. My situation is that I have road netowrk, rivers and lakes (all in vector format) and I need to transform those into raster format. I already have a grid template (coming from a 10m resolution slope raster) and I want all my vector to raster outputs to fit with absolute precision. I have tried to use min/max coordinates but the resultat is not good enough (see images below for transformer parameters and resulting rasters.) I am sure this standard ArcGIS procedure MUST have an equivalent in FME(otherwise, PLEASE make sure to develop one!). Can anyone enlight me? Kind regards,Anne-Marie

FME Server REST API Return File Extensions for File Upload

I've built a python fastapi web application using the FME Server REST API and was wondering if I'm overlooking where the file extension filters are returned for any file parameters. While I see all of the other parameter information, I am not seeing the file extensions specified in the workspace for a parameter. It does not show this in the REST API call for /repositories/< repository >/items/< item >/parameters, so I was wondering if it is somewhere else or not available at all. Is this a limitation to the FME Server REST API perhaps? The reason for this is that my application is fully dynamic, so the FME workspace drives the creation of the form inputs.

FeatureReader & clip search envelope on raster dataset

The feature reader does not allow you to make a clip on the initiator geometry. I need to read a fairly large raster (13GB). Input I get some small zone geometries to analyze. The idea was to create a BBOX on the geometry and use the feature "Spatial filter: intersects or bbox intersects" to load only the part of the raster needed for the analysis. Even configuring intersects or bbox on the feature reader, in output there is always and anyway all the raster. This problem is great because it slows me down considerably the server side script. If you add a raster reader instead you can check the "Clip on search envelope" flag and it works. But without FeatureReader i can't give my search envelope by the initiator. Could this be a missing-feature?Does anyone have a workaround? I use the FME Desktop version 2019.1

Published parameter and quote character for WHERE clause to filter features to read

(on FME 2020.2) Hi, I have a workspace with an Oracle reader in which I want to filter the features to read with a WHERE clause on a column, let's say COLUMN_A. I created a Choice type published parameter named colA, which contains the possible values for this column.This way I can filter the features from my table when COLUMN_A contains the value selected in the Choice list. The WHERE clause is : "COLUMN_A" = '$(colA)'Quotes character are used to handle the values with spaces. Problem : the values can contains the quote character as well !What is expected for the database (Oracle) is that the simple quote in the value should be doubled. For exemple the colA value TES'T should be transformed to TES''T. I tried to find a way to replace the simple quotes with two quotes in the WHERE clause using SQL string functions, without success because it always require to have the doubled quote. The only workaround I found for the moment is to change the Choice parameter to a Choice with alias par

Best way to overcome vertical faces in a triangulation surface

I have an array of polygons representing a surface triangulation.Because of the source of the data, some faces are vertical which aren't supported in the TIN I'm trying to create.Any ideas on what would be the best way to overcome this? I'm sure its a common issue, be interested to see how others handle it.Maybe convert to lines, filter overlapping lines with different Z values and offset both a small amount?

Using TopologyBuilder to extract border polylines from polygons

I’m struggling with the TopologyBuilder transformer and, since I’m sure my use case is quite common, I hope someone might be able to help me. I want to extract the topological boundary polyline from polygons. In addition to the polyline geometry, I’d like to carry polygon attributes through to left and right-side attributes of each new polyline. For example, if my input polygons were countries of the world, I’d like my output polylines to be borders with each attributed with the country on each side. e.g. Left: France, Right: Germany. I’ve got the polylines geometry coming out of the TopologyBuilder perfectly, but not so lucky on the attributes. I get _left_face and _right_face attributes coming out, but these edge IDs don’t seem to mean anything. They don’t relate to any input attributes, nor are the polygon table row id. I’ve also tried “Generate List From Input Faces”, defined a list name, Selected Attributes, and my attribute field name. Sadly, none of these are populated on the ou

I've found this documentation that mentions that comma should be surrounded with quotes when using in string functions. But the case now that I receive a file name (which contain comma) in a published parameter, then I want to replace part of the file path with some other string using "StringReplacer" function. I can't do this as the value retrieved in the published parameter has already the comma. Any Advise?

Fanout output directory setup

HelloI 'm trying to have the Fanout output directory stamped by date, I successfully did that except FME creates 2 folders of same content except one with the date stamp and the other without. Both directories are identical from inside, any advice?I'm using the parquet writer to export Revit elements properties to parquet files, here is my settings for output directory.The output comes as following:What I was expecting is the folder with date only???The same other folder "rst_basic_sample_project" with all its content is replicated in "2022-02-17"I only want "2022-02-17"

Extracting Top Surface from 3D Solids

I'm trying to extract a tin surface from 3D solid mesh in an FBX file.Ideally we would extract the top and bottom as separate surfaces.Any Ideas?If it isn't possible to filter the top/bottom triangles to create a surface, is there a workflow to create a raster grid sampling the highest/smallest Z at each point?

ChangeDetector how does it handle duplication? Only want to compare the most recent rows.

I am building a vehicle location tracking dataset where I want to keep a history of vehicle locations for future analysis. I am using the ChangeDetector to compare the values in two tables based on a field called [device]. I want to compare the [device] in table 1 with the most recent [device] in table 2 and if there has been a change, 'insert' those values from table 1 into table 2. So where [device] is in table 2 multiple times, I want to compare only the most recent record of the [device] details. When running the ChangeDetector, i have noticed that everything in the Deleted output seems to be the older duplicates. This moves me to my question. Does ChangeDetector just look for the first match for the value and move the others to the Deleted port? Does ChangeDetector use the timestamp field that I have to automatically detect the most recent? Can't seem to find any documentation on this?

How to build an interactive HTML page

Hi guys, I'm trying to set up an html-based application that allows assignment of attributive information. The html page comes out of a Serverapp and is presented to the user by a Data Streaming service. Currently I only manage to create a static page tha visualizes the "as is" situation. Is there a way to turn this page into an interactive mode, that re-establishes communication with FME Server on user request (button click etc.)? Does FME provide technology to fetch user input from text fields, context menues or any other gui object present on the page straight out of the browser? Looking foward to your answers!

MariaDB (MySQL) in Update Delete Mode

When using the MariaDB/MySQL in either Update or Delete mode, how to you specify the key to match the record? Is it using the fme_where format parameter because there doesn't appear to be mention in the Writer docs. Does it support fme_db_operation also?
