Does anyone have a modified an Azure Resource Manager (ARM) template for the Azure Distributed Deployment compatible with ARCGIS Entreprise?

@stewartatsafe , you mentioned the modification of templates in :https://community.safe.com/s/article/Deployment-options-for-FME-Server-in-the-CloudI could not find any example (or even better step by step tutorial) to adapt the Azure distributed deployment template to be "ESRI server compatible". The engine instances should have the ESRI libraries included if I understood well. Do you have any kind of resource or advice in this regard? Thanks in advance!Antoine.

Why does Sharepoint Online web connection stop working?

So I have a quick question about Sharepoint Online web connections in FME. A while back, I successfully set up a Sharepoint Online web connection in Desktop (2020.2) and published to FME Server (2020.2). https://community.safe.com/s/article/How-to-create-a-Sharepoint-Web-Connection At the time, I must've followed the steps on this page or another similar how-to. Either way, it worked in Desktop and has been running on a daily/interval schedule in Server. I should also mention I'm using a service account for this, which has the proper SP privileges and is what my FME Server runs as. Now, I find that every time, I want to do some type of adhoc job or query in Desktop, the same connection I set up back then no longer works, and I have to set up a brandnew one. At the same time, the original web connection that was uploaded to Server during publishing continues to work just fine. Is there something specific to Sharepoint authentication or token expiration that I am not aware of tha

How do I get the Eula Angles of a line in a Polygon?

I have a polygon and I want to know the angle α , β , γ of each line.With the PointPropertyExtractor I get the Eula Angle if I set it beforehand with the PointPropertySetter and then rotate the object.Is there a possibility to find the angular inclination of the line to α , β , γ differently? PolylineAnalyzer, HorizontalAngle and TopologyBuilder have not helped me so far.

Slope – Planar vs Geodesic

We recently moved some processes from Esri tools into FME. One of these has a slope calculation component. We expected to see minor differences between Esri/FME but instead we are seeing differences of up to 15 degrees difference.Further investigation showed that by default, Esri uses a planar based algorithm. FME (and QGIS) only use a geodesic based algorithm. Esri does also have the option of using geodesic. The original Esri process was using the default planar algorithm. When these are compared to the geodesic outputs (FME, Esri and QGIS) considerable differences are apparent. Comparing the three different geodesic outputs shows that the results are (almost) the same – as expected.This difference has considerable ramifications for the application using these slope values. Looking at Esri documentation, it does state the geodesic is ‘more accurate’, but this doesn’t explain the 15 degree differences we’re seeing.We have raised this question with Esri, but are wondering if anyone her

Failed to setup FME Sharepoint List Reader web connection

Dear community, I am fully out of ideas - we cannot successfully establish a sharepoint connection in order to make the List Reader work. I guess we tried everything and we followed the instruction here and the video here to the detail. FileDeleter fails to delete the files. Any ideas why?

Hello, I encountered an issue using FileDeleter as it fails to delete the files. I have some scripts deployed on FME Server that download some xls files daily, perform some reports and next day, new files are downloaded,and the old ones must be moved to an archive and delete the target file or folder. I get the next error when the transformer FileDeleter is trying to dedlete the files from previous day in order to download new ones. This error is not present in a Windows env (now I am trying to replicate that FME Server installation along with it's scripts on unix env...maybe this can be an issue?) PostGIS Raster Writer - default values being overwritten by NULL's in feature writer

I have the same issue identified within this question but whilst using the PostGIS Raster transformer (https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q00008p86kRSAQ/postgis-loading-default-values-being-overwritten-by-nulls-in-feature-writer) As suggested in the answer I downloaded the most recent Beta (FME(R) 2022.0.0.0 (20220323 - Build 22311 - WIN64) ) and gave it another try. Unfortunatley I still get an error when trying to write to my PostGIS raster table. The issue seems to be related to the columns with default values I am not trying to write to. FME seems to be attempting to write nulls to these columns. Is the Advanced > Missing Attribute Behaviour functionality also going to be included within the raster writer or another way around this? Since we use FME 2021.2 I get many failed objects with the geometry validator, while with fme 2020 it did not yield any failed objects. Is there a substantial difference in the geometry validator between the 2020 and 2021 version?

How to truncate a table while the writer is empty.

Hi, I have a workspace that truncates an SDE geometry table and refills it. The workspace runs daily and sometimes there are no records to write. In that case the writer only has to truncate the table. I don't see an option truncate first or anything like that in a sde writer.How can I truncate a table while the writer is empty?

MapInfo to ArcSDE (Oracle) attributes not coming across.

I have a very simple workbench that is taking a MapInfo file, reprojects it and sends it to an ArcSDE database in Oracle. For some of the MapInfo files it works fine but others only the objectid and shape attributes come across. The writer, drops and creates the table but does not create all fields in some cases. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be the case? Regards Dean

Exel reader schema difference between configuration and output

When I load my excel file I want the Day attribute to be read as type char so I can split it with string functions (Left/Right). The problem I have is that FME insists on reading the attribute as a 64bit real. I have tried removing the reader, purging the temporary files, saving the workspace, closing FME, and then add the reader again. But I keep having the same result. Are there any suggestions or is this standard for the Exel reader?

How to extract value from json and insert record in Postgres DB?

In my case, I have JSON object that contains table and it values in array. I am trying to extract each table object from JSON and insert it features(columns) array values into postgresql table based on table name. The json structure will change every time and it is dynamic. how to group points by datetime and/or group id , in order to build line in a specific sorter?

My database is >13.000 points from 6 different vessels. I need to create lines for each day, for each vessel. The lines have to be created in chronological order. I'm trying to group the dates after sorting, for then build the line using both datetime and vessel name parameters. I have converted date time format (ex 20210415165357, which is YYYYMMDDHHMMmm) to 2021-04-15 (YYYY-MM-DD). Any ideas how to solve this?

Columns in excel (.xlsx) document created using feature writer do not sort correctly.

My workflow reads an SDE, carries out some transformations, and then writes to .xlsx using a feature writer and a template file. When I open the excel file and sort columns the sort function works the first few times but then it begins to only sort certain columns leading to mismatched data in the document. There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to which rows sort and which don't. Sometimes it is only the ObjectID column which will sort.

Hi !I'm having a problem while writing into a template file, see image of log error. In fact, out of about 20 translations, there is one with this problem arising while writing data. Linux FME Server ArcPy

Hi, We are implementing FME Server, we have set up server core components on one machine using docker-compose and engines on different machines using docker. All these are done on Linux, the host is a Linux machine and all component is running on Linux containers. I do have a few users who have jobs that have a dependency on arcpy. I came across this article ArcPy on FME server (safe.com). This is more about windows, is there any way to support arcPy with FME on Linux environment? Thanks,Naman

Calculating values in CSV file

Hi, I have lengths for two different types of cable and i need to see the difference and generate report. Calculating values using excel formula in a column. The formula returns TRUE and FALSE values in CSV output. I want to manipulate more to filter out TRUE and FALSE values and outputted as a separate CSV file. Background maps not working under VPN

Hi,FME's background maps are not showing up when I'm on my company's VPN.I've tested a few ones (STATMEN, ESRI, MaoBox). They all work fine without VPN, but they don't (or sometimes they will for a very short period of time) when I'm connected with VPN. The fun part : I've tested the same maps with QGIS and ArcGIS Pro and they work flawlessly. Anybody ever face that problem ? Thanks Phil

Hi, I have encountered a strange FME Engine error. Any suggestions?

The error occurs once in a while in a Workspace that is reading a PostGIS/PostgreSQL 12.9 database and writing a GEODATABASE_FILE using 64-bit ArcObjects from underlying an ArcGIS Desktop 10.8 installation. The error is triggered in a DatabaseJoiner, when attributes are joined in from a PostgreSQL table and written to the File Geodatabase simultaneously. The error happens once in a while (every second run or so), but it does strangely not occur on a PC with 64-bit ArcObjects from underlying an ArcGIS Desktop 10.4 installation or in any other variants of the workspace writing to other formats. The error occurs both on Desktop and Server. FME version is 2020.2.3. The error message does not say anything about the GEODATABASE_FILE writer, only the PostGIS reader, but the writer is obviously a part of the problem. If I disable the writer, nothing happens. If I bypass the DatabaseJoiner nothing happens. The message POSTGIS reader: stk::ex::bad_expected_access is discussed elsewhere on this f
