No access to Esri Filegeodatabase

Currently, we have a very curious problem. A workspace is made in FME Workbench desktop which runs without any problem. In the workspace, geometry in a ESRI file geodatabase is repaired by a Python script (arcpy). However, when deployed on FME Server, this process results in an unexpected error, see attached file. The account which starts and runs the process on FME server has sufficient read and write persmissions on the location where the geodatabase is stored. What could be the cause of this problem? Is there a work around to be able to import Datamine, gOcad and Leapfrog 3D objects within FME to be able to automate queries and manipulations on these objects?

I'm am loading an XML file using the XML reader but I get the error Failed to obtain any schemas from reader 'XML' from 1 datasets. This may be due to invalid datasets or format accessibility issues due to licensing, dependencies, or module loading

Contour generator - problem with breakline

Hi guys, I have DTM files in ASCII GRID format and I need to generate contours from this files. Everything works fine untill last step. When I am generating contours with contours generator transformer everything works fine, but I have in the area few lakes where I don't want to generate contours. I've tried to use breaklines but when I am using it generally nothing change - contours still looks the same. I have layer with lakes where I don't want to generate contours. Before connect it to Breaklines arrow in ContourGenerator transformer I am using geometry coercer and 3DForcer. Can you guys tell me what I am doing wrong? I have no idea how to manage with this. Screnshot below. Brown polygon is a lake. Thank in advance.

StoryMaps API in FME PythonCreator/PythonCaller

Hi!Im looking for a way to import StoryMaps API to FME PythonCreator/PythonCaller. I have tried to import and read the following script:"from arcgis.gis import GISfrom arcgis.gis import Itemfrom arcgis.apps.storymap.story import StoryMapfrom arcgis.apps.storymap import Themesfrom arcgis.apps.storymap.story_content import Image, TextStyles, Video, Audio, Embed, Map, Text, Button, Gallery, Swipe, Sidecar, Timeline" When I read this script in PythonCreator/PythonCaller I got a message "Translation FAILED". The first two worked perfectly, but not the other three. Any ideas how i can work around? Appreciate your help!

How to dynamically retrieve all tables with all features

Hi, I'm trying to get all the attributes of all spatial tables in an Oracle schema.For this I start with a SQLCreator. It runs a query that gets table names from user_objects. The SQL creator exposes TABLE_NAME. I connect the Result port to a FeaureReader. I set this up as follows:Feature Types to Read: TABLE_NAME.,Generic> Port Attributes to Expose: *When I run the workspace, I see the correct number of records coming out in the < Generic> port. However, not per attribute. In the log I see that a select is performed with all attributes. (Select schema_name.coloumn_a, schema_name.coloumn_b, schema_name.coloumn_c etc.).When I connect an attribute exploder to the generic port I see all attributes with content but then they are shown separately and no longer per record.Is it possible to dynamically retrieve all tables and then show all attributes of all these tables per record?

FME Server - Impact of closed port 7078

Hi, what might be the impact of a closed TCP port 7078 on FME Server installation? Could it be that the only impact would be not being able to use the Topics Testing, as well as not being able to use the WebSocket protocol? Or am I missing something? Regards, Helmoet.

FMEServerJobSubmitter issue

Hi,I am using FMEServerJobSubmitter in a workspace to submit jobs in sequence for another workspace in repository.Both workspaces were successfully published on FME Server.When I run the one containing FMEServerJobSubmitter, I get an error saying that "user is not authorized to perform this action". I mention here that I am logged with admin also and have full rights in FME Server, but I still get this error. Any ideas? Cheers,Nicu

reading shape files goes wrong in FME ?

I have some shape files that might be corrupted i think... However reading/viewing them in ArcGIS Pro is working without any issue whereas in FME it reads them all but it mixes attributes of the features! e.g. Point 1 (shape file feature) becomes attributes from lets say point 10 (another shape file feature) an so on! All attributes are mixed! is this issue known? I am using FME 2022.0 p.s. I am just reading shape files without doing any transformation.

Are 'BADNEWS' Errors Able to Occur Independent of Debug Logging

Hi, I have a few workspaces published up to FME Server that throw an occasional 'BADNEWS' error, but the job still finishes successfully. I have gone through and ensure that debug logging is turned off on each job, and have even republished them to be certain that the setting is not enabled. Can FME jobs still throw a BADNEWS error that is independent of debugging? I am thinking there may be an inherent BADNEWS error that is just part of running an FME workspace. I have gone through and checked all areas suggested by Safe where debug logging may be enabled, and it is disabled in every possible place. Just want to make sure I'm not chasing down something that is a normal part of running a workspace.

FME Server: problems when reading multiple shapefiles with generic reader.

Hi, I have a workspace with a generic reader that reads multiple shapefiles. Everything works fine as long as I run the workspace with FME Desktop, but when I run the workspace with FME Server (Debian Linux) I get an error message like this:2022-1-5 12:43:30 | Shapefile Reader: The .dbf for '/data/fmeshare/resources/system/temp/upload/Tests/crs_fmt_converter.fmw/<username>/060101_BOSCO.shp' could not be found. Reading will continue, but features will not have any attributesI have investigated a bit further and I have discovered that if I upload a single file, everything works fine on FME Server too. Could it be a bug of the reader used by FME Server? I'm using FME Server 2021.2.1 (Build 21797 - linux-x64 ) Thanks!

Convert LAS to Esri SLPK

Hi there, I have a 3D object in .las format which contains RGB values for each point in the point cloud. The goal is to get this object into an Esri .slpk format and keep the RGB values so the final object is colored correctly. The .las file doesn't have a coordinate system but has relative xyz values; seems like the object is centered at 0,0. When using the CoordinateSystemSetter, it doesn't seem to change the XY values at all. This is just part of the problem. The other problem is when I try to write out to .slpk using the Esri SLPK writer, I get this error: The layer requires triangular mesh geometries. Features whose geometries cannot be triangulated will not be written How do I convert the .las file into a triangular mesh so that it can be written to SLPK? Is this possible? Do I need a different input format? Other options could be .xyz or .pcd for the input file. I haven't really worked in this space before so any guidance for working with 3D would be helpful. Tha

Prevent FME Server from zipping temp folders

Is it possible to prevent FME Server from zipping the temp folders ? My server is zipping the whole temp folder instead of only the output of my FeatureWriter, making it impossible later on for HTTPCallers to access the file I need it to upload. This behaviour is problematic because I access files inside these .zip in later steps of the workspace and it raises errors because it is in a .zip file.

Can anyone please help how do I deploy FME on Kubernetes which uses SQL server database?

TempPathnameCreator not working as expected

I am trying to send the MapnikRasterizer result to HTMLReportGenerator, but directly connecting them doesn't work. So I am using a TempPathnameCreator and FeatureWriter in between to write the png and then send it to the HTMLReportGenerator. However, HTMLReportGenerator can't read the path generated during the test running.FME version: 2021.2Error: HTMLReportGenerator: Unable to open image file 'D:/FME_TEMP/wbrun_1652070048335_8656/fmetmp_1c/1652075715010_34268_d\\r_2030.png.png'. I have a csv with no column names hat has a code field and northing/easting data . I need to split out the csv by code and map to a template gdb using the code to map to the correct table and map columns to the correct column

Currently I set the projection in the reader for the csv to match the gdb. I then added a Feature Writer transformer for the fanout creating feature classes in a staging gdb. My problem now is how do I get the feature classes the feature writer created back into the workspace so I can then use the attribute manager to map to my final gdb. I tried to use the Feature Reader transformer to add these back but have not been able to figure that out yet.

A new published parameter defined in a workspace in FME Desktop and published to FME Server is not known to the Rest API until the scheduled workspace is opened in FME Server and saved by clicking on the OK button. Is that a bug

I have defined a new published parameter (pp) in an existing FME workspace, which exist as a scheduled workspace on FME Server. When published with the new pp to FME Server, I can see the new PP in the interface of the scheduled workspace on FME Server. However when I use the REST API to get to the scheduled workspace it doesn't recognize the new pp, only the old ones. Just when I open the scheduled workspace on FME Server and click OK, then the REST API can see the new pp. Isn't that a bug of some sort?

Hi FMErs,Has anyone had any experience importing GoCAD ts files into FME using another reader type. It appears that GoCAD is not supported directly in FME, however the geometry of the object/s appear to be 3D triangulated surfaces ?Thanks in advance

Problems with Revit geometries

Hi I'm using Revit native reader to read Revit 2021 arch project file but having problems with transformers rejecting geometries. E.g. using MeshMerger or MeshSimplifier transformer will result in rejecting all imported geometries. Any hint how to solve this problem? I want to simplify and join geometries before writing to gltf, to get gltf file that's easy to renderThanks

Map a date from a text field to a date field in a geodatabase

I am writing from a csv where all the fields are text. One of these fields contains a date 10/11/2021. I need to load this to a geodatabase that has the field formatted as a date. I need the date to look the same in the field I am mapping to. I have tried many different things and am probably just missing something but I can't get this to work. Attached is what my current workspace looks like. I believe I need to do this in the attribute manager using the dat time format but I am not figuring out how to dot his properly.
