Why does my FME Server Engine on separate HOST become unresponsive?

My current FME Server setup includes a CORE/2 Engines set up on one machine with another Engine-Only Host running remotely on another machine. Recently, I noticed jobs on the remote machine queuing up and never processing. Restarting the FME Server Engines Windows service temporarily fixed the problem. But only for a few hours. I don't see any errors in logs. But I've just switched to debug level logging for more info and hope to capture some. What I do notice is that in FME Server web console, under licensing & engines, the remote engine just won't show up. Once I restart the service, I see it under both the Engines tab and the Deployment Status tab, until it disappears again. Unlikely this is service account related (as other similar post/solutions suggest) since I can restart service and then it runs for a bit. I did make a change regarding domain controller/Active Directory recently but rolled that back and it didn't solve the issue. I am not aware of any other

FileGeodb Open API in 2021 doesn't treat "1901-01-01" date as expected

This is less a question and more of a finding to report. In 2016, File Geodb Open API treats date values "1901-01-01" as "19000101000000", but in 2021.2.5, the reader treats the same value as "000000". The effect is the record gets thrown out, despite the writer saying all features are written.We've had to build in a StringReplacer to find all the "000000" to replace with the original date value.Is this a bug? Update:Affects "1900-01-01" as well.

Merge Road Events like using LIneOnLIne but, without Geometry possible?

I have road events from different groups and time lines.. so the geometry doesn't always match but they want me to push them together. is it possible to just use the PathName, Start Measure and End Measure to join many events together? Example: All Path's have3 events Weight, Height, Width. I want to be able to merge them together like Snipper or LineOnLine so I can join the Start and End Measures where they break.. If needed in Python or Transformer preferably so I can complete this on the fly from two databases to compare.

Change start vertex on polygons but keep order on vertices

Hi, I have loads of vertices that belongs to polygons and want to change the start vertex so that the polygon always start and ends in the lower left corner. The order of the vertices must stay in the same order so its possible to rebuild the polygon. Spatial sorting works to identifiy which vertex that should be the start vertex but messes up the order of the other. Thanks

Hello, I am trying a simple conversion from KML to csv. I need to write all data from ExtendedData element, it may be SimpleData or Data key/value. All I want is csv file with custom data from kml. In a workbench I have Generic reader which reads KML ( GENERIC Reader is requirement) CSV Writer to write to csv I have connected reader to writer directly no transformer and I expecting csv file. I yet to put CoordinateExtractor to get coords from file. So I am expexting only data to be written to csv. But when I run the workspace all I get is blank csv. Link additional attributes via identical ID from Excel to ifc to a updating ifc-file

I have a problem when creating a workflow in which additional attributes are linked via an identical ID from Excel (name) and Ifc (ETL_TYPEN.NAME). The problem is that not all attributes from the Excel list are recognized and linked and the geometry is taken over in the updated IFC (Writer).

How to convert obj to Cesium 3D Tiles

Hi, I have a 3D modell as object file. I will convert this to cesium tiles!I tried this way:Reader -> CoordinateSystemSetter -> Writer (Cesium 3D Tiles) But if I import the tiles inside cesium (e.g. cesium ion) I do not get georeferencing. So the model is not display at the correct location. Is it possbile to assign a georeference to an obj file?

SFTP Modified Automation

We've recently upgraded to FMEServer 2019.1 and are attempting to use the FTP Modified automation step to watch a data suppliers server so that our workbench runs when they drop data.Now I know there are differences between FTPES/FTPS and SFTP (which our supplier uses). Should I be able to use the FPT Modified automation to directory watch their server if we normally connect over SFTP? I am currently unable to connect and getting failures for "SSL error occurred. Verify port number and security type are correct."I know the port and host IP's are correct, as are the username and password. Is it as simple as our supplier allowing FTPS/FTPES encryption or is there another potential issue?

How do you configure FME to allow the results of running a workspace run to be emailed to the supplied email address?

I have a demo version of FME server installed, and have configured our email server in the System Email section. I have confirmed this is working by using the option to reset my user password, in which case FME Server sends me an email with a link to reset it, so looks like it is working ok. However whenever I run a workspace and enter my email address to receive the results, I never receive an email, regardless of whether the job fails or succeeds.Under System Events you can enable send email notifications on certain events, but in this case you have to specify the email to send to, which would be an admin email. When running a workspace, users will want to specify their own email, which they can do, but does not seems to work.Has anyone come across this before?

CSAR Point Cloud fails when loaded through Reader

Hi,I'm trying to read in various Caris CSARPC files and some fail with the following errors: (Had to sanitises paths)I've moved the FME temporary file location to a network share that has plenty of space as I thought it was running out on the C: drive, and it is writing the temp files in the correct location.It also is not consistent, I can run other CSARPC files through reader and it works fine, some a lot big then others, not sure what is going on?? Is there a way to get draped Imagery from a 3d Geodatabase to transfer to a DWG or DGN file?

I can see the imagery on the inspector but don't see anything in the GDB package that would hold the imagery. The GDB package has ATX, GDBINDEXES, GDBTABLE, GDBTABLX and SPX files.

How can I connect to and access an MS Access database that has a database password.

I'm trying to connect to and access an MS Access database that has a password and I am getting the following error. 592021-12-20 15:02:42 | COM.safe.fme.jdbc.TableProbablyDoesntExistException: net.ucanaccess.jdbc.UcanaccessSQLException: UCAExc:::5.0.0 user lacks privilege or object not found: VIP I can connect and access another MS Access database that is not password protected without any issues. For what it's worth, I can connect and access data in the password protected database from FME Workbench on my local PC, just not from FME Server. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Why throws my Interlis Writer a n error: class 'COM/safe/fmeobjects/FMEObjects" could not be located

Why I am not getting any option to enter my username and password when I am trying to login using FME server web interface.

The FME Server web interface is loading but there are no fields available to enter the username and password. My internet connection is working perfectly and I am viewing all the tutorials using the same connection. I have tried all the available solutions in the community discussion, My issue is completely different.

How to fix the coordinates in a CSV file?

Hi, does anyone know how to fix the "Geom" field and turn it into appropriate coordinates? I downloaded the CSV file from the city of Vancouver open portal and ran it in the FEM workspace without changing any parameters, but I couldn't see any point features after. I was wondering if I should fix the attributes as the coordinates are within the same field? Thank you!

Loading CSV codes into TestFilter

I have a list of codes (over 100) in a CSV and want to use a test for each code in a TestFilter. Is there a way to load them all at the same time rather than cutting and pasting individually?

Is there a way to configure connection to FME Server running locally inside web app that is situated on remote VPS?

Hi everyone I'm trying to make a web app that will be situated on our company VPS which is off course on remote server. We are running FME Server 2019 on local machine inside our company local network and is accessed through IP address. For the web app, I'm using some REST API code (I'm not an expert I must say) found in your "data-distribution-with-web-maps" demo where you set fmeserver url and token. Off course, setting those two is not a problem. I have also enabled CORS on FME Server. When opening webpage, web app triggers workbench but nothing happens and web developer error appears : Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https: ...As I have defined in JS file in web app, fmeserver url should start with http and by no means https protocol. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone tried anything similar and made it work?When using this app on local network, it works (CORS disabled). T

Which user rights should I have when using the FME SharePoint List Reader?

I know that the SharePoint List reader and the SharePointOnline connector are quite different from each other. Using a registered app on Azure worked fine for the SharePointOnline connector and its attached web service - but for the list reader, the web connection only required us to exchange the [TENANT] with our sharepoint tenant without changing anything else. This was working fine on our testing SharePoint platform using a non-personal user account to logon with. However, on our actual SharePoint platform, this trick does not work when using my own user credentials (it notifies me that the app needs admin rights) - and I am asking myself why. Does the user need to have certain rights in order to use the web connection? Then, as a second attempt, I followed the workflow here https://community.safe.com/s/article/How-to-create-a-Sharepoint-Web-Connection and it let me successfully test the connection as we have a registered app on Azure. Fanout Expression not being used in HTML output.

I am trying to create an individual HTML file for each 'grouped by' polygon. I have the Fanout Expression set as per below with the attribute that is used in the 'group by' but I just get a single HTML file. The attribute seems to be available to select but does not appear to be used during output. Is there something different I should be doing to get individual HTML files?

Well, it's time for all the latest FME news for the week. The FME World TourThere are many World Tour events still to come, as well as completed. The 1Spatial UK Tour visited London and tomorrow (perhaps today by the time you read this) is in Cardiff. They have upcoming events in Leeds and Glasgow too. Everyone was happy to be back in person again and to be presenting in front of others. Also coming up, there are World Tour events in Brazil with Solutial (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), Austria with Axmann (Vienna), and Japan with Pacific Spatial (Tokyo). You know where the full list is. Don't you?! Of course, as some events are completed, their presentations appear online. Here we have some user presentations from con terra España. Attribute renaming using attribute values

I think this is an easy one, however i am stumped. I have a set of data with 3 columns. Fieldname, Fieldval, RecordGroup. I simply want to aggregate by recordgroup and then rename attribute names to the value that is stored in the Fieldname. Where i am stumbling is how to rename the fields to the values in the input field. Thanks in advance.

Custom Transformer Parallel processing - runs only single instance and blocking

I have a workbench to process some raster imagery, each image is stand alone in the processing done, so a clear candidate for parallel processing. The workbench now looks likeI've set the group by to the image name (all unique), and run in both modes with the following outcomes:'Process when group changes (Advanced)' - Task Manager shows only only a single FME instance processing, act as blocking, processing all files before it begins writing results. 'Process at End (Blocking)' - Task Manager shows multiple FME instances launched, but only one is doing any work, acts as blocking, processing all files before it begins writing results. Both paths are giving correct results, I have removed any 'group by' within the custom transformer, I'm trying to understand what is going wrong in running in parallel. Thanks!

No access to Esri Filegeodatabase

Currently, we have a very curious problem. A workspace is made in FME Workbench desktop which runs without any problem. In the workspace, geometry in a ESRI file geodatabase is repaired by a Python script (arcpy). However, when deployed on FME Server, this process results in an unexpected error, see attached file. The account which starts and runs the process on FME server has sufficient read and write persmissions on the location where the geodatabase is stored. What could be the cause of this problem?
