Question

Unable to see Authentication Services under User management in Admin console.

I am trying to setup SSO/SAML on FME server. We already have https enabled and I am able to login using the AD credentials.

We are following below documentation and for FME server setting, it says to go to Authentication services which I am unable to locate under user management.

Is there anything that I am missing or anything that I have to enable ?

https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/WebUI/SAML-Configuration.htm

Thanks

SAML was only introduced in 2022. It's possible that you are looking at an older FME Server or that your account doesn't have permission to that section.

@richardatsafe  Thank you for your response. We are on 2021.x version of FME Server.

Guess i'll have to work on upgrading the FME server first and than should be able to see the SAML Configuration options.

FME Server 2021.2.4

Build 21814 - win64

@richardatsafe Could you also confirm if FME Server 2022.x will be able to read the OIDC metadata file?

I believe the OIDC Metadata has completely different fields than a SAML Metadata would.

Thanks

Hi @haris ,

Great, 2022 should make things more clear from the WebUI point of view.

For your second question, FME has two different authentication methods 1) SAML which only supports SAML protocol, not OIDC. 2) Azure AD integration which uses OICD protocol, but is limited to Azure AD. The Azure AD configuration does not include the use of a Metadata file. https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/WebUI/Create-Directory-Server-Connection.htm

Thanks,

Richard
