Python may cause instability - when using Python in the current locale

Hi,

I am getting this warning on FME Server 2022.1, but seems like false positive. We have 4 FME Servers running. I get this warning on 2 servers, the other 2 servers, it runs fine..

All 4 servers are identical on specifications, O/S, patch level.

Also: On the server there are 7 engines, but only some engines report "Python may cause instability"

Hi @rudy_v ,

There is a known issue on Instability Running Python in FME 2022.0 on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 version 1909 or older. If the warning message is logged when the translation succeeds, you can safely ignore this message. If the workspace crashes with UTF-8 related errors, please update to Window 10 version 2004 or greater, or to Windows Server 2022. Please see this article for more information.

Hope this helps

Edit: Please note that this issue only affects non-en_US locales. The message may be logged for all locates but the issue only affects certain ones.

Hi @keziaatsafe

Thank you for the reply - but why does it give that warning only intermittent - on the same server some engines it runs on - does not show the warning. On another server - with 10 engines - no warnings at all

Hi @rudy_v ,

That is very interesting... Is it the same workspace that is running on all the engines showing different results? Would you be able to test the same workspace to run on the engines across the 4 FME Servers? It may be showing up for specific jobs/workspaces that contain Python.

Thanks,

Kezia
