Hi @joker_ ,

FME Desktop can connect with Esri Formats like file geodatabase, SDE, etc using the FME Desktop Esri Edition License (assuming the dependencies have been met). The Professional Edition license allows you to make use of the file geodatabase open API format as it does not have a licensing dependency, however. For more on FME<>Esri compatibility please refer to this article. There's also the Data Interoperability Extension for ArcGIS which is based on FME Desktop.

FME Desktop is the authoring environment which is used to build and run workflows using Readers, Transformers, and Writers locally in FME Workbench. This is also the environment where you can visualize your datasets.

FME Server is the automation piece which allows you to publish workspaces from FME Desktop and run them on a schedule, in response to events (file/email received, webhook, and more) using Automations, process data streams, and create server apps.
