Question

FME Data Inspector places model where it should, Visual Preview inside FME Desktop doesn't

We have a .dwg input file that we are trying to convert into Cesium 3D Tiles file, if I open up the input .dwg then it is placed in the correct place on the map, but when I try to use the Visual Preview, and also the output it seems to be in the wrong place. There is not .prj included with the input and I'm not sure what could confuse the two applications. Any ideas?

Can you provide some screenshots and a sample of your workflow?

Also add some more details: what CRS is your data in, how do you assign it?

The models are in CAN27-10 coordinate system.

This is the workflow: https://ibb.co/Z1tT783

Each transformer: https://ibb.co/GtXYcyd

The preview from the <Generic> port of the workflow: https://ibb.co/BnH4NRN

The way Data inspector sees it (This is correct): https://ibb.co/jg7bc7V

To me it looks like you have some artifacts in the dwg file. Maybe blocks that have weird insertion points or weird text.

If you can open the dwg file in CAD turn on and thaw all layersm zoom to extents and see what lies outside your area of interest.

Else use a BoundingBoxAccumulator transformer to do something similar and inspect that together with the features in your area of interest.

Also, which port are you inspecting in Visual Preview and which in Data Inspector? Maybe your filtering eliminates the artifacts somewhere down the road.

Also, the community forum allows uploading images and other files. Please use this feature next time. It would be easier for all of as compared to trusting some random short url's.
