Question

How can I update an existing ArcGIS online service layer to show changes over time?

I am using FME 2020.

I have a boundary layer that I update in ArcPRO every month, I need to create a "Changed" feature service on AGO that will show the changes for each month over the year. I can create the initial service layer but I cannot add the changes to it. I have a change detector that is finding all the records to insert but the AGO writer fails.

The goal is to show all the changes to the boundary over the year. For example if I change the Austin boundary every month I should have 12 records for Austin at the end of the year.

This is the only error I get from the workbench

I think you have set "Use Global IDs" to yes where this is not supported at the server or service.

From the documentation:

An error is raised if this parameter is set to Yes, but the server or Feature Service does not support Global IDs.
