I still can't get my head around how to produce an FME AR model that appears in the correct geographical location when I open it in the iOS app.

Anyone that can point me to a good tutorial, preferably with an example workspace?

I was looking for exactly the same information thanks for the links. I have been engaged in 3D design for a long time and I think that the answer to this question will be very useful for me. I also wanted to ask, do you happen to know any good startup services that accept novice 3D designers?

Hi @jonas_nelson , I know almost a year passed, but yesterday, I published a tutorial about creating and using AR for city utilities with the workspace and the data, and even a video where I explore the model:

As always, feel free to talk to me either through community or directly.

Hi @dmitribagh , thanks for sharing and explaining the steps in the article you have shared.

Is there by any chance possible to share an article or tutorial on how to use FME AR App in combination of FME Data Express and FME Server or Cloud together?

To be more specific, to see when the workspace is hosted as a service and use it in FME AR App?

Hi @dejan11,

A couple of years ago, I published a blog that explains this scenario:

We also have a recording of the webinar, which contains the workspaces necessary for this scenario:

Finally, the FME Cloud service that creates AR models for the City of Coquitlam is live and anyone can try it. Of course, you need to fake your location (if you are not in Coquitlam, a city in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia). The service has a default location, so you can simply use it as is, or move around for a few kilometers in all directions (as long as you stay in Coquitlam, it should work). Don't pay attention to "Orientation Point" parameter. I created it for the precise model placement and orientation while using GNSS devices (there will be a blog post about that next month):

Just add this URL as a server app to FME Data Express, and everything should work.

With any AR questions, feel free to talk to me directly at dmitri@safe.com
