Hi,

I have an LOD1 3D Building in a single cell in Microstation DGN with a cutout - donut geometry. The cell contains 3 levels, i.e. Level 1 - roof, Level 2 - wall, Level 3 - footprint. Both levels 1 and 3 are with a cutout (donut geometry) stored as grouped holes in the DGN.

FME Data Inspector -

cannot display the feature properly.

FME Workspace - I need to convert it to CityGML but the feature does not seem to be read as expected, i.e. donut geometry.

Please see the data attached

Your help much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Magda

Hi @wilczekmj

could you please try expanding both - named cells and unnamed cells - while reading your source DGN? Please take a look at Add Reader > Parameters... > Element Options > Expand Named Cells and Expand Unnamed (Group Hole) Cells.

With these setting, you will expand your cell as well as all its group holes, i.e. each donut will be read as two area features. You can use DonutBuilder to rebuild the donuts (please check the DonutBuilder Drop Holes parameter - you might want to set it to Yes).
