Question

pdf production from AUTOCAD model

Hi Guys,

I'm not sure if this is possible.....

I have a lot of profile drawings in one dwg....(screenshot)

Is it possible to generate an automatization in FME to create pdfs for each drawing with the same scale?

Do i have to set frames first or can i create frames in FME?

Problem: the drawings have not the same size as you see on the screenshot....Any Ideas?

Thx and Greetz

It is possible but it all depends on how well formed are your layers and blocks are. If each profile is already separated either by blocks or layers then you could use the fanout function of the PDFWriter to produce a PDF for each profile. I don't exactly understand what frames are in CAD so please elaborate. If you meant data frames from the context of ArcGIS, then the PDFPageFormatter transformer have Page Object locations which is slightly the same. Hope that helps if you have more specific questions just ask. There's a Safe blog on the PDF Writer that introduced the newest features in PDF writing in 2015.1. Just search for it int he Blog section.

Hi,

Could you explain further whether these are having

1. different blocks or

2. present in differnet layer or

3. difference in location with combination of text and lines?
