Hi there - I am now to the FME software, so please bear with me!

I am running the SnakeGrid Projector, converting ECW files from OS Grid to Rail Project SnakeGrid.

I have run a batch of files, but the output files aren't the same filename as the input source filenames. I can't see identify the filenames from the source filename. Can somebody please help

Workspace looks like this

Thanks for your assistance.

The name of the source file is stored in the attribute fme_basename or if you want the complete path fme_dataset.

These are by default hidden, but you can expose and use them by checking the attribute in the source feature types (use properties and go to tab format attributes).

Then you can re-use that attribute to set the destination file name in the Navigator window (Fanout)..

Yes you need to expose the fme_feature_type (for data sets the basename)

You can do this on the reader or using an attribute exposer (in the attribute exposer you need to type in the attribute).

You can use just 1 reader (select read folder: little pull down arrow in the reader ) in and 1 writer set to fanout on fme_feature_type .
