For some reason the default text size for annotations in any FME workbench has changed, and I can't find a way to adjust it back. Based on this link it should be under Tools>FME Options>Appearance, but not on 2018.0, it seems...

Currently the text is huge (up five notches from the default size):

Hi @havmoejbv,

You could alternatively convert it is an attached annotation then edit the text size.

Hi @havmoejbv,

It looks like the default annotation text size is set by the Canvas Font setting in FME Options in FME 2018.0. Try changing the Canvas Font size to see if that helps.

It looks like the doc page you linked is an updated version as the 2018.0 documentation for Appearance is a bit different. Just as a quick tip, if the URL is missing the version number after "/fme" the most up to date doc will be shown. One way to tell if you are viewing a version-specific doc in a web browser is by taking a look at the URL, for example,

Thanks. I assumed the doc I listed was for the latest version and that something had changed.

The Canvas font was unchanged but I tried changing it (which didn't change the annotation text, only transformers etc) and also a restore to default to no avail.

For some reason, it is now back as it should be (except that the annotations I added yesterday that I had to scale down are now tiny). It could be the restore to default worked but I didn't close/restart all windows after the restore...

Hi @havmoejbv,

You could alternatively convert it is an attached annotation then edit the text size.

Attached or detached was just the same, and it was the need to edit text size of every annotation that was the issue...

Hmm, I wonder if this is a high DPI related issue.

Do you have Automatic Scaling for High DPI displays enabled in FME Options > Appearance > Rendering Options? Alternatively, you could try setting the high DPI scaling override on the fmeworkbench.exe file to see if that resolves the issue, see this answer for the steps to do this. Other options could be to do uninstall and delete the install directory in C:\\Program Files before re-installing or try 2019.1 to see if the issue still exists.

Let me know if that helps, @havmoejbv
