I would like to know if anyone has published a data source to Tableau Server from FME

FME has a Tableau .tde "extract" writer. Tableau recently, starting with v10.1.4, changed its extraction engine from .tde to .hyper "Hyper".

 

You can use FME to write the .tde file to a network directory or to a drive on the Tableau server.. Then setup a scheduled refresh to read from the .tde file. Although this will still work with .tde files for the moment... not sure how nice it will play as Tableau completely phases it out in favor of .hyper.

Does Safe plan to create a .hyper extract writer instead of a tde? It seems Tableau will eventually phase out the latter.
