I have a hydrants layer from CAD that identifies Hydrants with polygon geometry. I want to get the centroid of it, then output to GIS format.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I'm hot on the trail with: CenterPointReplacer....should be good.

Be aware the it returns the center point of the feature's bounding box.

Another option is the inside point replacer  and the center of gravity replacer.

always advisable is to check out thedocumentarion.

Hi,

"centroid" means a center of mass. If you need to follow the terminology definition strictly, you can use the CenterOfGravityReplacer transformer.

centrepoint seems ok ....i assume hydrants have a symetrical shape...like a circle.

So center of gravity would be same as centerpoint..

unless u have wacky geometry to represent the hydrants.
