Is it possible to write Autocad groups to dwg.

I have tried the available format_attributes.

Setting these on objects causes them to not be written, other objects do.

Any tips or hints?

(NOT talking about reading groups )

Hi,

It seems groups are available for reading but not writing. Do let me know if you find any solution.

Hi @gio, unfortunately it seems to be impossible. The help doc says "Group features are features with no geometry. ... This entity is only supported by the AutoCAD Reader." -- FME Readers and Writers | Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF Reader/Writer | Feature Representation | Group

I did kinda thought so.

But made me wonder why there are autocad_group format parameters available on the writer?

I assume the fme autocad writer creates the entityhandles(?).

Wich to me suggests the possibility to provide a option to create an autocad_entity_list{} to be filled to create groups.

Lookin into lisp options now..
