Question

Has anyone created an ODBC Reader connecting with a Snowflake Driver?

When creating the reader, I get the following error. I know this driver works because I was able to make an ODBC connection in Excel. I'm using FME 2019 32bit and created the source in a 32bit ODBC Data Source Admin.

Error connecting to database

Database Generated Error Information:

Database Error Message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Database SQL Statement Text:

Just updating this thread. @janezx opened a support case. She resolved the connection error after determining that it was a permissions issue in Snowflake. @janezx, feel free to provide any more info if you think it would be helpful to other's in the Community.

There was mention that Snowflake reader/writer support and native connectivity in 2020. Judging by this thread, sounds like the ability to connect is already there. We are on version FME(R) 2019.0.1.0 (20190506 - Build 19253 - WIN32). What is the best way to get set up?
