Using Arcpy from desktop 32bit and ArcPro 64bit on Server

We are looking at running ArcPy scripts built in ArcGIS desktop on FME Server 64 bit. Server is running ArcPro 3.5 Python. Some Arcpy libraries do not work with ArcPro. Has anyone figured out how to run both ArcPro 64bit libraries and ArcPy 32 bit from a FME workbench on Server. ArcPro python works fine as long as the python was written for ArcPro.

Hi @brianapeters, thanks for your question.

I think the complexity in this problem lies in the 32-bit and 64-bit mismatch between ArcPro and regular ArcPy python libraries - and that FME Server must match. Perhaps this can be overcome by installing 64-bit Background Geoprocessing alongside ArcPro and ArcGIS Desktop, all on the same machine. But the new difficulty will be specifying which Python library to use and when.

I would venture to say that running both ArcPy and ArcPro libraries in the same workspace might be impossible, however in separate workspaces running on the same FME Server might be possible. Can you clarify what you would like the workflow to look like and what version of FME Server you have installed?

Best,

Nathan
