What is the process to upgrade FME Server to 2017

Looks like it is asking to uninstall the old install. Will that remove all the current data and processes?

Have a look in the documentation:

Basically:

  1. Backup of existing instance using FME Server GUI
  2. Uninstall old
  3. Install new
  4. Restore backup

In my experience the process described by @david_r works fine.

The only issue might be, that you have to re-create all users if you are using Active Directory for security.

the backup will contain your repositories and workspaces if that is what you mean.
