Tiling space delimited XYZ Files

I have a number of space delimited XYZ files (DTM data) and need to merge them and then split them into 1km x 1km tiles. The final dataset needs to be an .xml file that Civils 3D can use and produce a surface out of it.

I've used the tiler transformer but i'm running into errors during/after the tiler process

Any thoughts? Am i missing something in the process?
