Question

Is it possible to convert a ".max" format to obj, without 3d studio max?

Hi, I don't have 3D Studio Max. I need to convert a file that is in ".max" format to obj format. I downloaded the FME software, TRIAL, but it looks like I'm doing something wrong ... FME doesn't seem to recognize a .max dragged into it.

how could i solve this?

Hi @jcdorlando6

You can check this https://www.safe.com/integrate/3ds-max/.

In FME 2019.2 installed in my machine I see the format extension *.3ds http://docs.safe.com/fme/2019.2/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_ReadersWriters/3ds/3ds.htm

Thanks,

Danilo

Hi danilo_fme:

"3ds" is file format other than ".max".

3ds = 3D studio ... .Max = 3D Studio Max.

I don't have 3d studio max, and I just wanted to convert a .max extension file to obj, without texture.

I have Blender 3D, and I can easily import 3ds files there, but not a .max.
